I’m a big believer in the power of gratitude and appreciation. Because we get more of what we focus on, focusing on those things that are going right in our life can only attract more of them. Being grateful or appreciative also helps us dwell on the positive — rather than the negative — in our daily lives; perspective has so much to do with how we experience our lives and what we get out of them.
I used to keep a gratitude journal. When I did, I found that my attitude was so different that it was before. My life was more joyful, more peaceful. I was more focused. My life went more smoothly. And, more good things flowed into my life with little action on my part. I don’t really know what prompted me to set my journal aside, but I did
A few weeks ago, I stumbled across Gratitude Friday on Inner Voices, the blog of NolwennP. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to participate, too! Since then, I have not thought of it on a Friday, but today I was visiting Nowlenn’s blog and was re-inspired to write my own gratitude/appreciation post.
This week, I am grateful/appreciative of:
- My husband’s part-time job and the benefits it affords our family.
- Our kitten, Gracie. She is an adorable little bundle of energy.
- The other two cats (Frankie and Nana), too, for that matter! They all bring so much joy to my life.
- Good friends and time spent with them.
- The car I inherited when my mother made her transition. We spend so much time on the road, that it’s been a real blessing.
- Creative time! Even though I can’t connect with my Muse right now, it still feels good to spend some time being creative.
- A personal issue that is working out well for me.
- The love and support of my friends and family — especially the Husband!
- My Monday afternoon painting group, and the friendships I’m making there.
- Having a sister and becoming closer to her.
- Restful and refreshing sleep.
- All-you-can-eat long distance.
- This project!

This is a wonderful idea. I do something similar. I find that it really helps me soak in the good stuff. I am glad that life is being so abundant towards you. Have a great week!
