The amazing Jamie Ridler asks us this week: What do you wish for less of? For me, this question tracks with last week’s question because it was wanting less loneliness that caused me to wish for the companionship and support of a Creative Collective; it was wanting less wasted time that caused me to ask for more structure and routine; it was wanting less uncertainty about my art that caused me to wish for taking myself more seriously as an artist.
One thing that I want less of that I didn’t address in last week’s question is weight. I want to be slimmer, firmer, healthier, more toned. Again, I’m speaking in terms of what I want rather than what I don’t want.
It’s easier for me to hold a vision of what I want in my life than it is to hold of vision of the absence of what I don’t want. It’s easier to add to my life rather than subtract from it. After all, we live in an attraction based Universe.
To invite the “more of” that balances the “less of” that Jamie asked about, I’m making some changes in my life:
- I’m reaching out more – and responding more – to people who interest me, in hopes of developing a Creative Collective that can help to diminish my aloneness.
- I’m developing a structure/routine plan that I will begin instituting no later than 01 October in order to waste less time and feel more productive.
- I started out my artful journey being very process oriented and not so product oriented. As I’ve worked to get ready for three art/craft fairs happening this fall, I’ve become more focused on the end result and I feel less sure of myself as an artist than I did before. I also feel less creative. And I’m enjoying it less. I’m trying to get back to the heart of my art – to love the process and make art for the sake of the joy it brings me.
- I am taking control of my weight. I am eating more healthily and getting some exercise every day. I’ll gradually increase the amount of exercise that I get until I’m getting about an hour’s worth a day.
What do you wish for less of?

As you wish so I wish for you. I love how you have taken something and made it into a postive.
Hi, Cindy
Congratulations on all of your action steps! I’ve been reading that under this Virgo New Moon, these sorts of plans are perfect to create! Mercury goest direct in a few days and that will lend some energy to the movement forward.
As you wish for yourself, I wholeheartedly wish for you as well!

so true that it’s most helpful to focus on what one wants, rather than what one doesn’t. sounds like you’re making wonderful progress on the goals you’ve set for yourself. as Cindy wishes for herself, i wish for her also.

I love that you are translating your wishes into goals and working toward making your dreams come true. Very proactive! Just wishing doesn’t accomplish.
