Gratitude Friday

Gratitude Friday is a weekly ritual that Nolwenn started in order to focus on all the small and big positive things that happened during her week. She invites us to join her; you’ll see how much being thankful can change your life. If you want to know more about it, read her introduction post.

I’m in a bit of a hurry today, so this won’t be a massive list. I just want to touch base with you and express my appreciation for a few things happening in my life.Gratitude Friday

  • My husband is on his way home! We spend the week days apart and the week-ends together. I miss him when he’s gone, but this is just the way we have to live for the time being. It makes me so appreciate our time together, even if we are in different rooms, doing our own things. I love knowing he’s right there, hearing him putter around or strum at his guitar.
  • I’ve been painting and writing a lot this week. I’ve accepted (I think) that the kind of art I love and want to do isn’t the kind of art that is waiting to come from my heart. I want to do dramatic, abstract, fine art painting, but I never get very far when I start a new piece. I get stuck and frustrated. Yet, this week when I sat down to work on the piece I’m donating to Hope For Creativity for their fall fundraiser, something way more “cute” came out, and came forth quickly and joyfully. My piece isn’t done yet, but I think I love it. Just not what I sat down to do!
  • I am, once again, appreciative of the wonderful women who are coming in to my life. I’ve recently made two new friends — both wonderful artists — and renewed an old friendship with another amazing creative woman. I’m also developing a lot of acquaintances in an online course I am taking. I love the feeling of support and belonging!
  • Kitties and family are all healthy. That’s a major blessing!

That’s it for today! There are so many other things to be appreciative of, but I’m on a time budget this evening.

What are you appreciative of?

So glad to hear John gets home for weekends and sorry you have to be apart during the week. It sounds like you’re getting into a creative stride during the week. Its exciting you’ve found a different expression are we going to see some examples? And I’m so glad your kitties are fighting fit and a joy to live with. It wasn’t until Polly came to live with us I realized just how much I’d missed not having a cat around the house. The morning ritual of a Mexican standoff between Polly and our dog Mei is so funny – goodness only knows what they do when we go out!
